Education: public schools and presidential vote plans in Florida

These tables give percentages of potential voters who answered "fair or poor" to the question "How would you rate the job your local public schools are doing? Would you say they are doing an excellent, good, fair, or poor job?".

The only significant difference among different groups on this question was in 1992 when there was heightened concern over public schools among Clinton voters. In the current election all groups of voters have majorities who are critical of schools, and the percentage has increased over the past year.

Undecided voters are closer to Bush voters, though the difference is very small. Overall this is probably an issue that helps Bush slightly more than Gore.
