How Does a Student Renew at FIU?
Contingent upon availability of funds, the student will:

  • Have earned a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 each semester.
  • Have earned and passed 12 credit hours per term (Fall /Spring).
  • Demonstrate financial need and first generation status by completing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid each academic year by the deadline specified by the institution.
  • Renewal is limited to 10 consecutive Fall and Spring semesters.

* Eligibility for renewal is determined at the end of Spring semester of each academic year. If the student satisfied all the scholarship criteria, it will be an automatic process.
