Select Agents

Select agents are microorganisms and toxins that have potential to be used for terrorism. Possession, use, or transfer of select agents at FIU is regulated by The Public Health Security and Preparedness and Response Act of 2002 and required to register with the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

The Select Agent Program ensures that all locations are registered with the CDC and comply with federal regulations and procedures.
