  RESOLUTION PASSED

The Governor's Council of Economic Advisors (CEA) strongly supports enhanced educational outcomes as critical to the long-term well being of Florida residents. However, there is little or no credible evidence linking decreases in class size with improvements in student performance. The CEA finds that the likely $3 billion per year cost, as reported by the Florida Revenue Estimating Conference, of implementing the changes mandated by the proposed amendment, will negatively affect the fiscal stability and the business and economic environment in Florida.
Because of its high cost and dubious benefits, the CEA opposes the proposed amendment.
