ON-CAMPUS ACCESS TO FIUNET AND INTERNET
Computing Labs
The Pine Center provides two instructional and limited open lab use computer labs. These labs are equipped with Dell PCs providing access to current technology.
Network Registration (airs.fiu.edu)
AIRS is a registration system where you can register your computer's MAC (Media Access Control) Address, thus enabling your computer to automatically receive a dynamic IP address using DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol). FIU students can access the FIUnet and Internet from any location within The Pines Center. Click here for information on how to obtain and register your MAC address.
Clean Access (Wireless)
FIU's new Clean Access network provides users all the benefits of Internet access, without the common risks of catching unwanted viruses and bugs. This new network is able to accomplish this via the installation of a program, or "agent", which scans your computer to ensure your machine is up to date with the latest antivirus definitions and operating system patches.
