We appreciate your interest in Florida International University and the FIU swimming team. The Golden Panthers will start their very-first season of competition in the Fall of 2003 at the newly renovated and improved Aquatics Center overlooking beautiful Biscayne Bay.

Where is FIU: We are located in beautiful Miami, Florida with the campus only 20 minutes from the Miami International Airport in a suburban neighborhood.

How large of a school is FIU: Florida International is the fourth-largest college in Florida with over 33, 000 students.

What majors does FIU offer: As Miami's public research university, FIU has the academic majors that will prepare you for the job markets of the 21st century. The University offers you direct access to new technologies, hands-on research opportunities and cultural- and career-related experiences in one of the world's most exciting international cities.

Florida International awards degrees in over 280 majors within its 16 colleges and schools. Colleges include the School of Architecture, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business Administration, College of Continuing and Professional Studies, College of Education, College of Engineering, College of Health and Urban Affairs, School of Health, School of Nursing, School of Policy and Management, School of Social Work, University Graduate School, The Honors College, School of Hospitality Management, School of Journalism & Mass Communication and the College of Law.

What kind of academic support does FIU offer: FIU's academic fitness building houses a full staff of tutors, advisors, computer lab and study rooms available to our athletes 14 hours per day.

FIU's Swimming facilities: The Swimming team will start its competition in the Fall of 2003 at the newly renovated and improved Aquatics Center overlooking the Bay located in the Biscayne Campus.
The FIU aquatic complex is a 50meter with 8 lanes Olympic size outdoor pool. We are swimming outdoors year round due to the warm temperatures even in the middle of the winter months.

What Conference will FIU swim in: The Sun Belt Conference in which we are a member consists of the following schools: Denver, Western Kentucky, New Mexico State, North Texas,and Arkansas-Little Rock.
