Golden Panthers host annual football awards banquet

Running back Rashod Smith, posing with his senior plaque alongside head coach Don Strock, was named the football team’s Most Valuable Player for the 2004 season at the Third Annual FIU Football Awards Banquet.

The FIU football team held its annual awards banquet earlier this month in the Grand Ballroom at the Miccosukee Resort and Convention Center. Sportscaster Kim Bokamper, of Miami’s CBS4, served as the emcee while all in attendance relived highlights from the Golden Panthers’ 2004 season. Speakers included former Miami Dolphins players Dan Marino and Jim Mandich.
