Golf and fishing tournaments on the horizon

Planning is well underway for two of the Alumni Association's biggest events in 2005. Mark your calendar for the golf tournament in May and the fishing tournament in June.

The FIU Alumni Association Golf Tournament will take place on Sat., May 21, at the Doral Golf Resort & Spa, 4400 NW 87 th Ave., Miami. It will begin at 6:30 a.m. with breakfast and registration. The shotgun start will be at 8 a.m. Tournament-day discounts for spa services will be available for spouses and other guests of the players.

The FIU Alumni Association Fishing Tournament will be held on Sat., June 18, at the Miami Beach Marina. The tournament begins at 7 a.m. and weigh-in will be at 4 p.m. at the marina. A dock party will follow at Monty's Raw Bar in South Beach, 300 Alton Road. Cash and other prizes will be awarded.
