The Florida International University Alumni Association will host the 2005 FIU Golf Tournament on Saturday, May 21, 2005 at the beautiful Doral Golf Resort & Spa, 4400 NW 87th Ave., Miami. Tournament-day discounts for spa services will be available for spouses and other guests of the players. A portion of the proceeds for the event will be dedicated to the FIU Alumni Association Scholarship Fund.

The backdrop for this year's golf tournament will be the Doral Resort & Spa.

Doral has partnered with FIU's Alumni Association to present this hallmark tournament to you! Join us in a spectacular day of golf and fun.

BLUE MONSTER - There is no more challenging or spectacular golf course than the famous Blue Monster. Virtually every great name in golf has had a moment of glorious personal triumph on this world-class course. Come and see the changes Doral has made to five of the holes on this course to put the "teeth" back in the Monster. Holes 3, 8, 11, 14 and 18 have been redesigned and were first seen at the PGA Tour Ford Championship in March. The Monster is ranked by Golf Magazine as one of America's Best Resort Courses.

GOLD COURSE - Originally designed by Bob Von Hagge and Devlin design team in 1968, the course was redesigned by Raymond Floyd in 1995. The Gold Course follows a traditional Florida layout, with gently contoured greens, strategic bunkering, and water surrounding 16 holes. Unique to the Gold Course is the challenging island green 18th hole where walking away with a par feels like you've gotten away with something.

The tournament will commence with Breakfast and Registration at 6:30 am and an exciting Short Game Clinic by the staff of the Jim McLean Golf Academy at 7:00 am. An 8 a.m. Shotgun start followed by a Gourmet Lunch and Award Ceremony

Fees for the tournament will be $250 for an individual and $1,250 for foursomes.
