Business Alumni Chapter brings service to the forefront

In December 2003, the College of Business Administration (CBA) Alumni Chapter launched its community service initiative—part of its mission to provide alumni with opportunities to become involved and caring members of our local communities. The Chapter’s Community Service Chairman, Nelson Vallin, who will join the Business Chapter’s board of directors for the 2004-2005 year as vice president of Programming, continues to be the inspiration behind the Chapter’s efforts.

“There are so many worthy organizations that need our assistance,” stated Vallin. “Through the Chapter, we can touch many of them and make a difference in the important work they are doing.”

The Chapter has organized monthly service projects with the South Florida Animal Rehabilitation Center, Victim’s Assistance Center for Battered Women, The Palace at Kendall Nursing Home, and the Unaccompanied Minors Program. The Chapter’s last project for the fiscal year will be held on May 22, 2004, at Camillus House.
