Fifth Annual Golf Tournament Oct. 24

The FIU Alumni Association and Athletics Department will host the fifth annual Golf Tournament Oct. 24 to raise student scholarship dollars.

This year’s target is $25,000, which will be split between athletic and Alumni Association need-based scholarships.

The tournament format will be a four-person team scramble. The registration fee of $150 per person or $600 per foursome includes 18 holes of golf, power cart, continental breakfast, golf balls, tournament gift, greens and cart fees, lunch, on-the-course beverages, a goody bag and a team photo.

Prizes will be given for first, second and third place, as well as closest to the pin, longest drive and straightest drive. There will be a raffle and a silent and live auction. Among the prizes that will be given out will be four round-trip airline tickets for the continental U.S.

The event begins at 7 a.m. with a shotgun start of 8 a.m. at Don Shula’s Golf Course, 7601 Miami Lakes Drive in Miami Lakes. Sponsorships are still available. For more information, contact the Alumni Association at 305-348-2238 or click here.
