Study Abroad: Accommodations

Students have the choice of several housing options. Accommodations are offered through the FIU Summer Program at the Hotel & Apartamentos Murillo, a short walk from the law school. (visit www.hotelmurillo.com)

The Hotel Murillo is a two-star hotel ideally situated in the center of the historical Santa Cruz neighborhood of Sevilla. It is around the corner from the legendary La Hostería del Laurel, the hostel of the mythical Don Juan, and down the street from the Jardines de Murillo located behind the Alcázar palace. A pleasant walk through the gardens takes you directly to the Universidad de Sevilla where classes will be held.

The Murillo offers single, air-conditioned rooms with satellite TV and daily maid service. Located right next door, Apartamentos Murillo offers one and two-bedroom apartments that may be shared with another program participant or a traveling companion. The one-bedroom apartments may be selected with either a full-sized bed or two twin beds. The two-bedroom apartments have two bathrooms and a full-sized bed in one room and two twin beds in the other. There is one two-bedroom apartment with only one bath, offered at a somewhat lower price.

All apartments are fully furnished and have a living room with TV and sofa bed and an adjoining kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, and microwave. There is daily maid service (dish-washing not included). Students who wish to make their own separate lodging arrangements may do so with the prior approval of the FIU program director. FIU cannot assume responsibility for locating housing or housing conditions elsewhere.
Housing costs cover 36 days, commencing May 21 and ending June 26. The rates listed below include continental breakfast daily. Rates for additional days are quoted separately. Laundry service is available at the hotel for an additional 6 Euros per 4 kilograms of clothes (one European machine load).

1,296 € – 36 €/day

One-bedroom apartment with bath:
1,890 € – 52.50 €/day Sharing this apartment: 945 € per person

Two-bedroom apartment with two baths: 2,979 € – 82.75 €/day
Sharing this apartment: 1,489.50 € per bedroom

Two-bedroom apartment with one bath: 2,439 € – 67.75 €/day
Sharing this apartment: 1,219.50 € per bedroom

Exchange rates may vary. Housing costs will be based on the Euro price.

Access for persons with disabilities
Student housing and University facilities are accessible for people with disabilities.

You should calculate at least 20 Euros per day for groceries and inexpensive meals. Note that eating at restaurants costs approximately 30 Euros per person. If you plan to do any traveling on the weekends in Spain or elsewhere you will need to budget accordingly.
