The Law Library exists to serve the College of Law, the FIU community, the
bar, and the general public.
Our collection is accessible to everyone. Library tours and reference services
are available to everyone in person during reference hours. Limited reference
service can be provided by phone. Because of our limited resources, we must
stretch our public service resources to meet the needs of both academic and
community
patrons. The College of Law faculty, staff, and students have check-out privileges
on library materials designated to be circulated. This privilege is extended
to non-Law FIU faculty but not the non-Law student body. In addition to those
affiliated with the College of Law and FIU, members of the bar and the public
have free access to the library collection but cannot borrow books. Most single
volume treatises are circulated. Multivolume treatises, loose-leaf services,
digests, citators, statutes, case reports, administrative regulations and decisions,
and periodicals are designated as non-circulated; likewise, materials of reference
nature. Circulating materials may be checked out for varying lengths of time
depending upon the status of the borrower. Please follow the link pertinent
to your status for the services we specifically provide for you.
