Come celebrate FIU's first BlueGold Weekend

The Golden Panther football team are holding their first scrimmages this fall, and alumni can also participate in a first this season: the inaugural BlueGold Weekend, a special version of Homecoming, November 8-10 at FIU-University Park.

Highlights of the weekend include the Alumni Golf Open on Friday, November 9 at Don Shula's Hotel & Golf Club starting at 8 a.m., and Saturday, November 10 the Golden Panther football team takes to the field for the BlueGold scrimmage - a first game-day simulation for fans. The day will begin with the Kick-Off Club - FIU's tailgate party - at 1:30 p.m. for members of the FIU Alumni Association and the Golden Panther Club. A joint venture of the Alumni Association and the Golden Panther Club, the FIU Club promises to be the best party on the grounds, with a barbecue lunch, giveaways, and entertainment for the entire family. The BlueGold scrimmage follows at 3 p.m. - all taking place at the FIU Community Stadium.

It's not too soon to reserve space at any of these events. For more information, call the Office of Alumni Relations at 305-348-ALUM or, toll free, 1-800-FIU-ALUM to guarantee your spot.
