Come celebrate FIU's first BlueGold
Weekend
The Golden Panther football team are holding their
first scrimmages this fall, and alumni can also participate in a
first this season: the inaugural BlueGold Weekend, a special version
of Homecoming, November 8-10 at FIU-University Park.
Highlights of the weekend include the Alumni Golf Open on Friday,
November 9 at Don Shula's Hotel & Golf Club starting at 8 a.m.,
and Saturday, November 10 the Golden Panther football team takes
to the field for the BlueGold scrimmage - a first game-day simulation
for fans. The day will begin with the Kick-Off Club - FIU's tailgate
party - at 1:30 p.m. for members of the FIU Alumni Association and
the Golden Panther Club. A joint venture of the Alumni Association
and the Golden Panther Club, the FIU Club promises to be the best
party on the grounds, with a barbecue lunch, giveaways, and entertainment
for the entire family. The BlueGold scrimmage follows at 3 p.m.
- all taking place at the FIU Community Stadium.

Thursday, November 8
7 p.m. Golden Panther Men's Basketball
vs. W. Va. Wheeling Warriors. Coach Donnie Marsh and his team
take to the court in this exhibition game, a preview of the exciting
season ahead. Golden Panther Arena - $7.00
8 p.m. The Crucible.
A thrilling courtroom drama about a seductive young woman who accuses
an innocent Puritan wife of witchcraft as a way to solidify her

Friday, November 9
7:00 a.m. Registration
8 a.m. Alumni Golf Open. It's tee time in Miami Lakes for
alumni and friends. This signature tournament will sell out, so
reserve your spot early. Registration starts at 7 a.m.

7 p.m. Golden Panther Women's Basketball vs.
Stephen F. Austin. The women's basketball team opens their season
in the prestigious pre-season NIT. Bring out the family to cheer
Coach Cindy Russo and her squad to victory.

Saturday, November 10
1 p.m. Campus Tours. Come witness the
transformation at University Park, where more than $200 million
in construction has taken place over the past 15 years. Tours will
leave every hour and last 45 minutes. Reservations recommended.

members and FIU Golden Panther Club members are invited to take
part in this newly created tradition at FIU - our own tailgate party!

parade. Procession will take fans from the stadium to a festival
on the grounds of the Wertheim Performing Arts Center. Free

celebrating the sounds of Trinidad and Tobago.
