Brief Description of the Program:

       The Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation offers a program in Physical Education with two tracks which lead to a Bachelor or Master of Science degree. Tracks include: Physical Education (K-8) and Physical Education (6-12).

       The Sport Management track provides an M.S. degree that focuses on management related issues in the field sports. The purpose of the Sports Management track is to provide an options for persons seeking a master's degree in an allied (non-teaching) career in physical education. This degree program would primarily be for persons who do not presently hold Florida teaching certification credentials. Consqequently, completion of this degree would not provide such teacher certification for the degree recipeients. Examples of potential student clientele would include all foreign and American college graduates with bachelor's degrees in physical education, sports science, business, recreation, or other related areas.

Application Requirements:

  • For the track in Sports management, students who do not have an undergraduate major in physical education or a related area are responsible for meeitng the prerequisites for any course listed in the program's curriculum.
