Brief Description of the Program:

Busy executives make decisions every day of their lives. Yet perhaps none is more important than that of deciding how best to prepare for personal success in today’s ultra-competitive environment.

Globalization, rapid organizational change, new information technologies, unrelenting demands for quality and productivity, the critical need for innovation and change—all require leaders with a competitive edge. The College of Business Administration’s Executive MBA (EMBA) program cultivates that competitive edge. We deliver to working business professionals a total graduate education experience that prepares them for new and expanded responsibilities as senior-level functional or general managers.

Like all of our academic programs, EMBA is fully accredited by the AACSB International—Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, the recognized accrediting body for graduate business programs.

The EMBA program provides participants with the foundations of general management—a solid theoretical and practical understanding of the core business disciplines and how these disciplines interrelate when applied to real-world business challenges. A cross-functional, integrated approach lies at the heart of the curriculum.

The program also helps participants to hone their communication, leadership, teambuilding and related interpersonal and professional skills. Through the program, participants learn how to leverage new information technologies to transform not only business processes, but also the way products and services are created and marketed, the way organizations are structured, and the way the dynamics of competition and rules for business success can be adapted for competitive advantage. They learn to navigate strategically and adeptly in the evolving digital economy and within a global business environment.

The outstanding faculty, the interplay between the business world and the classroom, and the rich and varied backgrounds of the program’s participants create an educational experience of great breadth and depth. Our limited enrollment policy ensures our classes are small and enables us to provide a high level of personalized service. It also fosters a highly interactive environment in which participants learn from each other. The program also makes a direct connection between in-class learning and business application. Through the Herbert A. Wertheim Endowed Lecture Series in Business Leadership, we bring senior executives from South Florida, the nation and overseas into the classroom.

The EMBA program is rigorous, challenging, and intense. It requires self-motivation, self discipline, and careful time management. In return, it provides long-term rewards for both participants and their sponsoring organizations.
