Brief Description of the Program:

       The Masters of Science Program in Mathematical Sciences is intended to prepare students for further studies in mathematics or to provide career advancement opportunity.

Application Requirements:

The following are in addition to the University's graduate admission requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, applied mathematics or mathematical sciences from an accredited university or college.
  • A 'B' average or higher in upper division mathematics courses.
  • Graduate Record Examination taken within the past five years, with at least 650 on the quantitative portion and 500 on each of the other two parts.
  • Three letters of recommendation concerning the candidate's achievement and potential, from persons familiar with the candidate's previous academic performance.
  • Approval of the Graduate Committee.

Additional Requirements for International Students:
  • For foreign applicants whose native language is not English, a TOEFL score of at least 550 is required.
