Brief Description of the Program:

The Occupational Therapy Programs at Florida International University were re-accredited in 1993 by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education. Graduates of these programs will be able to sit for the national certification examination for the occupational therapist administered by the National Board for Certification in OT (NBCOT). After successful completion of this exam, the individual will be an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR). Most states, including Florida, require licensure in order to practice; however, state licenses, such as Florida, are usually based on the successful completion of the certification examination.
