Brief Description of the Program:

        A professional program designed to prepare students for managements responsibilities in the criminal justice sector as well as in the public and private sectors. The Objectives of the program are
  1. To provide present and future criminal justice managers with the skills needed to function effectively in our ever changing society and
  2. To serve as a catalyst for interdisciplinary research and study for criminal justice and related problems. The Master of Science in Criminal Justice also seeks to prepare students for careers in the administration and management of criminal justice agencies, planning and analysis, and teaching in community colleges.



Application Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA average in all undergraduate upper division work
  • Total score of 1000 on the GRE (Graduate Record Examination) OR a score of 500 on the GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) OR a graduate degree from an accredited institution to be eligible for admission
  • GRE or GMAT must be completed prior to admission regardless of GPA
  • Non-Degree Seeking Students (Special Students) will only be allowed to register for a total of 12 credits, this does not guarantee admission into the graduate program


Additional Requirements for International Students:

  • Foreign graduate applicants are accepted subject to space and fiscal limitations
  • Must be academically eligible for further study in their own country
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in the English language by presenting a minimum score of 550 or higher paper-based and a minimum score of 213 computer-based on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
  • Applicants who hold an undergraduate degree from an institution within the United States or other English speaking countries are not required to submit TOEFL
