Brief Description of the Program:
The
MS in Telecommunications and Networking degree program will be designed
to prepare individuals for careers in the telecommunications industry.
It will provide the necessary education of individuals involved with
hardware and software providers, service providers, large user
organizations and government regulators. It will offer extensive
theoretical and practical knowledge in wired and wireless communication
networks. Students in this degree program will choose one of two
tracks:
TELECOMMUNICATION SYSTEMS AND NETWORKS TRACK
- The 24 semester credit hours of course work
will include:
- Minimum of two graduate level courses in the
Telecommunications Network area
- Minimum of two graduate level courses in the
Telecommunications Software area
- Minimum of two graduate level courses in the
Telecommunications Engineering area
- At most one other graduate level course in
the Telecommunications Management or Policy areas. Justified exceptions
are possible with approval of student's Advisory Committee.
- The remaining credits for each option are to be
fulfilled with elective courses chosen from the M.S. in
Telecommunications and Networking curriculum.
- A maximum of 6 credit hours may be transferred
from other institutions.
