Crime Prevention Presentations
The FIU Police Department encourages all students and members of the
faculty and staff to be involved in campus crime prevention. Information
on safety and security concerns and precautions are provided to students,
faculty, and staff members regularly through seminars, films, bulletins,
crime alerts, posters, brochures, university newsletters, e-mail, and
the student newspaper. University police officers provide crime prevention
presentations on the following topics:

Safety Tips You Should Always Remember...
- Don’t walk or jog alone.
- Avoid dark and/or isolated areas.
- Use the PSA escort program.
- Lock your doors and windows at all times.
- Secure your keys and valuables.
- Open your door only to people you know.
- Call the FIU Police Department immediately if you see suspicious
activity.
