Interlibrary Loan
For materials not owned at the libraries, interlibrary loan is available
to Florida International University faculty, staff and currently enrolled
students. Most interlibrary loan materials can be obtained without a charge.
However, some charges may apply. These charges will be the responsibility
of the requester.
Failure to pay fines or for lost books may result in:
1) Denial of further circulation privileges
2) Denial of permission to register for classes
3) Withholding of transcripts
4) Withholding of diplomas
PROCEDURES
Students may obtain library cards by presenting a current student
photo I.D. card and filling out an application form at the Circulation
Desk. Lost or stolen cards should be reported to the Circulation Desk
immediately.
Patrons are responsible for all materials borrowed on their library card
and for returning or renewing materials on time. Fines will be assessed
for overdue, lost, and damaged materials. A fine schedule is available
at the circulation desk.
Excessive abuses may result in denial of circulation privileges.
All overdue fines and charges for replacement of materials must be paid
at the University Cashier's Office.
The location and circulation status of SUS materials may be checked at
any LUIS terminal. Information on FIU materials and intercampus loan are
available at the Circulation Desk. Information on interlibrary loan is
