Program Overview
Summary of Orientation Schedule
The Orientation program is a 2-day overnight program, which offers students the opportunity to experience on-campus living and time to get to know staff and current students in a more informal environment. Students will stay in the Lakeview South Residence Hall at University Park Campus and Bay Vista Housing at Biscayne Bay Campus, and will need to provide their own sheets and towels during their stay. Students have the option to stay in the residence hall the evening prior to and after the orientation session, at an additional charge of $20 per night.
University Park: DAY 1: 7:30a – 10:00p Biscayne Bay: DAY 1: 8:00a – 9:00p
Students will receive information about the Summer B program, including the curriculum and academic requirements. Also, students will take a campus tour with their Peer Advisor, meet with an Academic Advisor, and learn more about campus life.
University Park: DAY 2: 7:00a – 1:00p Biscayne Bay: DAY 2: 8:00a – 1:00p
Students will have more time with their Academic Advisor, who will explain the University Core Curriculum, advise students on their course selection, and ultimately register for their classes.
What students should bring to Orientation:
- Orientation Confirmation page
- Official Immunization documentation (if not already submitted)
- Sheets (for a twin bed), pillow, towels, and any other personal items for overnight stay
- Panther ID Number
- Picture ID (driver's license or other ID)
- Copies of AP, IB, or CLEP scores
- Transcripts with other college credits and the catalog from the other college (if applicable)
- Walking shoes
- Umbrella (just in case)
- A positive attitude!
