The FIU MBRS RISE student research experience provides the opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to receive compensation while acquiring work experience in research labs. In addition, research travel funds are available for the MBRS RISE graduate and undergraduate students to attend scientific meetings. For graduate students participating in the Program, tuition will be covered for 9 credits in the fall and spring terms and 6 credits during the summer term. FIU undergraduate students may apply to the MBRS RISE Program during their freshman, sophomore or junior years for participation in the program from the time of acceptance through their senior year. Graduate students may apply during their senior year of after starting their graduate studies.
- Must be US citizen or permanent resident
- Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better
- Be enrolled full-time at FIU in biomedical or behavioral science fields
- Have a strong desire to pursue a career in biomedical research
