Employee of the Year, 2003

It gives me great pleasure to announce that our Employee of the Year is Miriam John, Office Assistant to the Associate Executive Director of Libraries at BBC. Miriam joined our staff in 1984 in my office at University Park. In 1991, she became Head of the Interlibrary and Intercampus Loan Unit at BBC. Subsequently, she moved to her present position.

Her high standards, quiet dedication and sense of responsibility, her courteous and dependable nature have won her this award on two previous occasions. She also received the FIU Customer Service Employee of the Year Award in 1998. She is an ombudsman for BBC Campus and, on a voluntary basis, serves as Notary Public. This is but one instance of her going above and beyond what her job requires.

To our awardee go thanks and appreciation for all she contributes to the University Libraries and to the University Community they serve.

Laurence Miller, Executive Director
