Employee of the Month May 2004

It gives me great pleasure to announce that our Employee of the Month for May is Aurora Barrios, Senior Library Technical Assistant/Supervisor, Resource Development, Green Library. Aurora joined the library in 1984. Her responsibility all along has been serials management (a field she is eminently qualified in, having been head of the Latin American Serials unit at the University of Florida). Over the past several months, she has managed a particularly important project involving the transfer of scores of serials in Health Sciences and Criminology from BBC campus to University Park. She has also done an outstanding job in recent days contributing to the productive expenditure of $500,000 in new library resource funds.

Aurora has an admirable work ethic and a consistently pleasant manner. She is always helpful with library patrons who need a particular periodical issue not on the shelves. Her coworkers find her a wonderful colleague and friend.
