Child Care at FIU

Children on Campus:

Children's Creative Learning Center at FIU:
The Children's Center is an Nationally Accredited (NAEYC) Educational Research Center for Child Development that provides appropriate hands-on experiences for children of students, staff, faculty, alumni, and the neighboring community.

The Center offers an educational preschool program, including enrichment activities. The curriculum is built around educational concepts with an emphasis on critical thinkign skills, decision making, problem solving and emergent literacy. Activities focus on the chidlren's interests in the content areas of art, music, puppety, movement, science, cooking, dramatic play, indoor/outdoor play, writing process, storytelling, math experiences and developmental tasks.

Frequent visitors to the program include: Fire/Police Department personnel, Dental/Vision/Speech/Hearing Screening, Forest Rangers, Bee Keepers, Farm animals and more.

Children between the ages of 2 ½ and 5 years old (toilet trained) are eligible for enrollment. If you are interested in visiting or would like more information, please call 305.348.2143 or visit online at www.fiu.edu/~children.

Financial Aid:
Students who are eligible or recipients of a Pell grant and can meet other criteria may receive a partial subsidy to cover their child's registration fee, supply fee and Center tuition.
