The
Student Health Fee funds all of the
following FIU services:
NOTES:
-
The
Student Health Fee is not an insurance
policy and only covers medical
and mental health services rendered
on campus at the Health Care Center
or the Counseling and Psychological
Services Center.
It
is strongly recommended
that all students possess
health insurance coverage
to help pay for services
which may be needed outside
of the scope of services
provided on campus (e.g.,
specialty care, diagnostic
testing, hospitalization,
or services provided
when the Health Care
Center and the Counseling
and Psychological Services
Center are closed).
-
The
Student Health Fee is paid at registration
by all students taking at least
one class at a Miami-Dade county
campus. This required fee provides
for the accessibility of primary
medical care and mental health
services for one Semester (16 weeks)
as well as many university programs
such health education, peer educators,
victim advocacy, and disability
services available to all students
designed to promote wellness.
-
Students
may utilize these services regardless
of the number of credits taken or
when classes are scheduled, including
weekend and mini-semester classes.
