Molecular beam apparatus used in Dissociative Recombination and Scattering Experiments

Research Interest:

Current Research Interests
     The current research interests include, but are not limited
to, cooling and trapping of metastable rare gas atoms, in
particular argon. Argon atoms are trapped at temperatures of
approximately millikelvins in a magneto-optical trap. Interactions
between the trapped atoms and cool (as opposed to cold) are
studied.
     The dissociative recombination reaction of rare gas molecular
ions is studied to determine the final product state branching
ratios.
     A new experimental program investigates associative ionization
using the products of dissociative recombination. (no results yet)
