Please note and remember that in 2008-2009 GSOs will no longer be the responsibility of the Graduate Students Association. In the Fall Semester, all Graduate Organizations must register through the new Council for Student Organizations. You can find more information out at one of these sessions.

GSO Liaison Responsibilities

The GSA GSO Liaison serves as the communication line between the GSA (Graduate Student Association) board and the many GSOs across the campus. GSO (Graduate Student Organization) representatives should go through the Liaison when they have concerns for the GSA board. The Liaison also administers the GSO budgets that are accumulated during the semester and awarded at the beginning of the following term. The Liaison will keep track of GSA general meeting attendance, CES workshop attendance, Gradskeller attendance, and offer opportunities to the GSOs to earn extra money when the board agrees upon such events.

Registration renewal for existing clubs takes place in the semester prior to the current semester. Failure to register and submit an end of semester report will result in financial penalties. If paperwork will be turned in after the GSO Liaison imposed deadline then it is the GSOs responsibility to contact the Liaison (fiugsa.gso@gmail.com) to ask for an extension.

Registration for new GSOs should be turned in as soon as possible but there is a grace period as these organizations are forming or starting again.

Please submit all forms so that registration packages are complete. End of semester reports need to have GSO meeting minutes, event flyers, event sign-in sheets, expected budget and justification.
