Conference
Funding Program
We at GSA understand that presenting
research at conferences provides graduate students with
a unique opportunity to represent themselves and FIU on
both an academic and professional level. We are proud to
facilitate funding to a limited number of students each
year to present their research at their respected conferences/meetings.
The maximum amount allotted to each student for
domestic travel is up to $300
and for international travel up to $500.
This funding can only be used towards airfare and conference
registrations. Due to budget limitations first time applicants
will be given priority. If you are interested in applying
for funding, please read our Guidelines
for applying for conference funding and the Procedure
for conference funding carefully. Then fill out our
Conference
Funding form.
Please note: A
minimum
of 4 points are needed
to be eligible for Conference
Reimbursement. Points should be obtained before applying.
Each GSA event counts as 1 point.
Thesis/Dissertation Funding Program
Research is the primary concern of
graduate students and yet very little financial support
can be found for this often time consuming and expensive
endeavor. GSA is also proud to be able to provide up
to $500 per student per year, for thesis and dissertation
research. If you are interested in applying for funding,
please read the Procedure
for thesis/dissertation funding carefully. Then fill
out our Research Funding Form
