The lab objective is to provide students with a better understanding of where the various resources come from, their economic value, the ability to recognize these resources and some environmental issues related to them.

Grading system

 

Labs - each weekly Lab Exercise = 10 points (the lowest lab score will be dropped)

         - each lab will be evaluated on an individual basis and will be returned at the

           beginning of the next lab

         → maximum 130 points

Quizzes - each quiz = 10 points (the lowest quiz score will be dropped) 

         → maximum 100 points

 

Final grade:  Quizzes count for 60 %

                       Labs count for 40 %

 

Grades are determined by percentage as follows:

A = 94-100, A- = 90-93, B+ = 87-89, B = 83-86, B- = 80-82, C+ = 77-79, C = 73-76, C- = 70-72, D+ = 67-69, D = 63-66, D- = 60-62,

F = fewer than 60 points.

 

Policies

 

Attendance is required because written exercises are completed during the labs. There are no makeup labs. If you have a medical emergency or a serious family problem, then arrangements will be possible. Verification in the form of an official document will be required.

  Cheating and other kind of misconduct is unacceptable and will be reported to University officials.

  Beepers and cellular phones must be turned off during the lab period.

  The class will be responsible for cleaning up the lab.
