FIU Department of Environmental Studies

Summer Internship Opportunity

The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is an international non-governmental conservation organization. During 2007, TNC will conduct a pilot conservation science internship program.  The program will match qualified and enthusiastic university students with TNC programs and mentors throughout the world.  Beginning in December 2006, TNC will work with FIU and a handful of other universities to identify 8-10 students for the first internship class.  Students must be in their 3rd or 4th year of college or pursuing a master's degree, academically exceptional and demonstrably committed to conservation of the natural world.  TNC will place each student with committed and experienced mentors under whose guidance they will undertake a project that interests the student and benefits the host TNC program. The Environmental Studies Department will work with students to secure funding for this 10-week internship.  Contact Dr. Anne Hartley at hartleya@fiu.edu as soon as possible if you are interested in being considered for this opportunity.
