We offer an advanced Master’s program in Special Education for students who hold an undergraduate degree in special education. The program represents an extension and refinement of knowledge and skills developed in an undergraduate special education program.
We offer an initial certification Master’s track in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) with an endorsement in ESOL (English Speakers of Other Languages). This track prepares teachers to work with students with mild disabilities including those who are ESOL. This track is Florida state approved for ESE with an ESOL endorsement.
We offer an Ed.D. in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) designed to prepare individuals to assume leadership roles within the field of special education including administrative, supervisory, research, and or university faculty positions. To support our leadership-development goals, our program has adopted an organizational structure that requires students to participate in scholarship beyond course requirements (e.g., university teaching, presenting at professional meetings, grant writing).
Some programs require field-work. State of Florida certification requirements are met or are prerequisites for the MS track preparing Exceptional Student Education teachers.
