1. Foreign Language Requirement (different from the University's) |

2. You must take 9 elective credits outside your major during your last 60 credits.
|
|
3. A & S does not count certain 1 credit physical activity courses (with prefixes PEM, PEN and PEL) in the total number of credits towards graduation. These are courses such as Karate, Aerobics, Scuba Diving. (If you are unsure, check with your advisor.)

4. All Arts & Science students must complete 48 Hours
of Upper Division Courses. (Some other Academic Units, like the

5. Your last 30 credits must be taken here at FIU. Students cannot use CLEP (College Level Examination Program) credits in their senior year. |

Note: The University will allow you to apply a maximum of 60 LOWER DIVISION transfer credits towards your total number of credits for graduation. To have more than 60 transfer credits applied towards your total for graduation you must file a special appeal and prove that some of the courses taken before entering FIU were UPPER DIVISION. For specific details see your advisor. |

Note: CLEP (College Level Examination Program) tests are accepted as lower division transfer credits even if you take the exam here. Also, they often will be transferred automatically with the rest of your transcript from another institution; you must have the CLEP offices send the scores directly to FIU Records. |

6. At least half of the upper division credits in any major must be taken in residence at the University.

7. Students must earn a grade of C or higher in all courses required for the major. A grade of C- or lower is not acceptable in any course required for the major.
