Overview
The Panther Internship Program is for
students seeking positions during the school year. This
program is designed to provide Florida International
University students with career-related work experience
prior to graduation.
Students who register for the Panther Internship Program
must meet certain requirements and attend an Internship
Workshop.
The benefits of the Panther Internship
Program include helping students prepare resumes, giving
students access to many positions in the South Florida
area, and coaching students through the interview process.
Career Services defines an internship
as an experience that will afford you priceless opportunities
to:
- Explore career options
- Gain exposure to different
work environments
- Obtain
hands-on experience in your field of study
- Develop
specific work related skills that enhance your marketability
upon graduation
- Build
a network of professional contacts within an organization
and industry
- Gain
professional experience in a chosen career field
Put simply, your internship experience
will enable you to make more informed decisions about
your career path; equip you with valuable skills, industry
exposure, and a professional network; and help you grow
into a confident, seasoned individual comfortable with
the job search.
There is no guarantee that all students
who are seeking internships will be hired. A student's
major, GPA, skills, resume, and other factors will influence
his/her candidacy. However, a savvy student will maximize
the resources at Career Services to secure a position.
