Refer Employers

Career Services appreciates your support in referring employers who may contact you in an effort to identify students from your academic disciplines for internships or full-time placement.

We offer a variety of services depending on how quickly employers need to identify candidates and fill their openings: On-line job listings and resume referrals are recommended if the employer’s needs are immediate. On-campus interviewing, Career Fairs & Forums are services that require advanced planning and registration. Consequently, they are effective recruiting activities for planned or projected openings. An overview of these services and information on our internship program is provided below.

We appreciate your recommendations on employers who may be interested in participating in any of our activities. We also encourage your participation in any of our events!

Career Fairs & Forums

Career Fairs and Forums are valuable opportunities for employers to meet many students in a short period of time and for students to obtain information on what types of career opportunities are available in the different fields.

Each year Career Services sponsors two major Career Fairs in the Spring and Fall and many smaller Career Forums throughout the year. Approximately 1800 students attend each Career Fair. While Career Fairs are major events with a broad representation of companies, Forums are usually smaller events that target specific industries and bring those employers to the campus to meet with students from those disciplines. Last year Career Services sponsored Forums for MBA students, Engineering students, Education Majors, and several others areas.

On-Campus Interviewing Program

If the employer has several weeks to identify candidates, then they may wish to set up a visit to the campus. This program works best with at least 6-8 weeks lead time. During that time, the visit is promoted and students are able to view employer information, view the job description and submit their resume through or new on-line recruiting system called Panther JOBlink. Panther JOBlink enables students to manage all their interview activity including submitting their resume and signing up for interviews.

To set up an on-campus visit, employers should contact Carmen Rosado, On-Campus Recruiting Coordinator at (305)348-6285 or via email at rosadoc@fiu.edu
