Building Partnerships at FIU
Contributions from employers have enabled us to develop
special networking events to bring firms in contact
with students. Such events provide benefits to employers
in terms of name recognition and access to interested
students and faculty.
Examples of these networking events include:
- Arts and Science Forum
- Engineering Forum
- Minority Internships Fair
- Health Sciences Forum
- Business Etiquette Dinners
- Summer Camp & Internship Expo
For information on sponsorship opportunities,
please contact Lenroy
Jones, Director, at 305.348.2423 or via
e-mail at jonesl@fiu.edu.
A great way to reach the students and the faculty
who use Career Services is to advertise in our
publications. Our marketing materials (fliers,
handbooks, guides, postcards, banners and websites)
are distributed to over 100,000 students and
alumni every semester. For further information
on advertising, please contact Lenroy
Jones, Director, at 305.348.2423 or via
e-mail at jonesl@fiu.edu
Career Services is happy to assist recruiters
in developing a customized action plan to reach
targeted student populations. This can include
the facilitation of workshops, panel presentations,
and information sessions. The best way to conduct
targeted recruiting is through partnerships
with student clubs, organizations, and classroom
presentations.
There are over 150 registered student organizations
at FIU for recruiters to consider incorporating
into their recruitment outreach activities.
Please visit the Student
Organization Council's website for a comprehensive
listing of FIU organizations. Employers visiting
our campus are encouraged to interact with students,
contact student groups, and conduct information
sessions for student club meetings. Information
sessions can be scheduled face-to-face or through
videoconferencing.
Recognizing that employers are looking to identify
well-rounded candidates, Career Services encourages
students to get involved in student campus organizations
to enhance skills in leadership, communication, planning,
and problem solving.
To arrange a club/classroom presentation, contact
Brad Shuck, Associate Director, at 305.348.3870
