Florida International University Career Services Panther JOBlink Policies

Student Policy

CAREER SERVICES Panther JOBlink ACCOUNTS SHOULD NOT BE SHARED.

NOTICE: By using Panther JOBlink services of Florida International University, Career Services, I am consenting to the release of my resume and certain employment related information of a personal and professional nature.

Florida International University staff will use their best efforts to verify that only bona fide employers are given the password for accessing Panther JOBlink services to list vacancies, access resumes and schedule interviews with student and alumni subscribers. However, it is possible that the employer password could be misused or abused by inconsiderate people, therefore care should be given to listing certain personal information in your resume such as your current college or home address. Your Email address and phone number should normally be sufficient to allow initial contacts from employers using Panther JOBlink.

As an FIU student/alumn you must certify that all of my information that I will be entering into the Panther JOBlink’s student database is correct and is provided voluntarily. I understand that it shall be my responsibility to keep this information accurate and current. I authorize the release of this information, as well as any resume(s), academic transcript(s), and references to interested employers, including third-party recruiters. I also understand that the Career Services office may notify me of potential job opportunities by either e-mail or phone.

Account Sharing Violation

Student/Alumni Panther JOBlink accounts should not be shared with other users! It is Career Services policy to DEACTIVATE any student/alumni who shares their account, by uploading someone else's resume or giving account access to another user. If you have been deactivated for a sharing violation, you must make an appointment to meet with the Career Services Associate Director or Senior Director. It is up to the discretion of the Associate or Senior Director to reactivate your account.

On Campus Interviewing Policies and Procedures

Employers expect full interview schedules with candidates that are punctual and dressed professionally when they visit FIU. To ensure that employers expectations are fully met, if not exceeded, policies have been established regarding submitting your resume, cancellation of appointments and being present at interview appointments.

There are four policies that you should understand and must comply with in order to participate in the On-Campus Interviewing program. If you have any questions or need clarification on these policies, please contact Career Services at (305) 348-2423.

Resume Submission Policy

Submitting your resume to a company is viewed as an expressed commitment on your part to interview with that company if you are selected. (i.e. pre-select interviews).
Once you are selected, you are expected to sign up for a time.

Interview Cancellation Policy

You must personally contact Career Services at least two (2) business days BEFORE the scheduled interview to cancel your interview. Failure to comply with the interview cancellation policy will result in immediate loss of interviewing privileges and resume referrals for 12 months.

Interview No-Show Policy

Failure to show up for an interview will result in immediate loss of interviewing privileges and resume referrals for 12 months.
To request re-instatement of privileges, you must call our front desk at (305) 348-2423 to do so.

Mock Interview Policy

Mock Interview Events, in which employers volunteer their time to interview and provide students with constructive feedback are considered an on-campus interview schedule. Therefore, all on-campus interviewing policies and procedures apply.

The success of the on-campus interviewing program depends on everyone doing their part to showcase FIU as a source of bright enthusiastic and reliable candidates!
