Research and Teaching Assistantships

RA's are awarded by faculty members to students to work on their research programs. TA's are appointed for instruction of undergraduate labs (requires 20 hours per week). Both TA's and RA's receive a matriculation fee waiver and a non-resident fee waiver if necessary, Master's student's receive a stipend of $15,000 annually. PhD's receive a stipend of $22,000 annually. Fully enrolled TA's and RA's can expect to pay approximately $500-600 per semester in per-credit-hour and semester fees.

Biological Sciences Assistantships

Both Research Assistantships (RA's) and Teaching Assistantships (TA's) are available for graduate students. Contact individual faculty members to inquire about the availability of research assistantships. For more information on applying for Teaching Assistantships, contact the Graduate Program Secretary.

Minority Biomedical Research Support

The department is the recipient of a National Institute of Health Minority Biomedical Research Support (MBRS).
