The
Kelly Foundation Tropical Botany Scholarship at FIU, 07-08

Mr. Loyd Kelly, through the Kelly Foundation, has established
an endowment to provide scholarships in tropical botany at FIU. Mr.
Kelly has had a life-long fascination for tropical plants and wishes
to encourage their study by deserving students. The scholarship
is meant to help undergraduate majors in the Department of Biological
Sciences who are interested in tropical botany. Students
applying for this scholarship must have a GPA of 3.0 or better
with a demonstrated interest in the scientific study of tropical
plants. This year we will offer up to 3 scholarships of $1000-$4000. You
can apply by writing a letter documenting your interest in tropical
botany and your career goals. You should append a brief resume
providing some educational and personal background to the letter. The
deadline for applications is 5 PM, Friday, 20 April, 2007.
