2002: Projected to be the ace
of the staff, but suffered a torn ulna collateral ligament in his
debut for the Golden Panthers against UCF on Feb. 1, and didn't
pitch again in 2002…struck out six in four innings of work…still
drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 41st Round of the MLB Draft.
Prior to FIU: Transferred
from Briarcliffe College in Long Island, N.Y. where he played for
head coach Jack Bryant…posted a record of 9-3 and a 3.50 ERA
his sophomore year…member of the USA Tournament of Stars held
at the Walt Disney World Complex…attended Christ the King
High School in Queens, N.Y. where he was All-Regional in 1999 and
the Athlete of the Year…amateur experiences including being
a member of the Danbury Westerners (NECBL) and the Metro Cadets
(ACBL)…drafted in 1999 by the San Francisco Giants…recruited
by St. John’s and Florida Atlantic.
