The Army ROTC won the (1st) annual Turkey Bowl football game.  Official score was 24 – 20.  Army got off to a quick start with two quick touchdowns but missed both extra point tries.  12-0 at half time.

Army’s first possession led to another score but again the 2 pt extra point tries were not working.  18-0.  It looked like the beginning of a rout but Air Force began a convincing air campaign.

Air Force then struck back twice with touchdown throws and extra points to make it an 18 – 14 game.  The momentum had definitely changed back to AF.

As the second half wound down Army struck again on the ground.  The touchdown came from a short pass and a long run but Army again failed to convert on the 2 point try.  24 – 14.  AF marched down the field in a convincing manner and scored on a deep pass in the back of the end zone.  This time the extra point try failed.  24 -20.

Army managed to generate a first down after AF expended it’s time outs on the subsequent possession and run out the clock.

Game balls for Army were:

CDT Garcia (the cadet formerly known as Deehl) and CDT Horne.

Great game down to the wire.  Thanks to all.
