Dear Participants:
On behalf of the organizing and scientific
committees, it is my great honor and privilege to invite you to participate in
the 7th Asian Conference on Transcription (ACT-VII) to be held on July 23 to 27,
2002, at Cititel (Mid Valley), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (website: www.cititelhotel.com).
This Conference aims to promote research in
transcription in Asia through invited lectures, oral and poster presentations,
and interactions of scientists working inside and outside Asia. Plenary lectures
will be delivered by several eminent scientists from the USA, Europe, and Japan.
Five
main sessions are planned: Preinitiation and Initiation; Activators and
Repressors; Elongation and Termination; Global Gene Expression; and Applied
Transcription - Pathogenesis, Carcinogenesis, Immunology, etc. For
individual sessions, a number of participants will be selected based on the
abstracts submitted. Should you be interested in making an oral or poster
presentation, please submit an abstract by March 31, 2002.
Malaysia
is a beautiful, modern, safe, and multi-racial nation with friendly people. The
climate is hot (ranging from 21 to 32°C) and humid throughout the year. Eating
out in Malaysia is a real gastronomic adventure. Malaysia is also a shopper’s
paradise. You are most welcome to tour the country after ACT-VII. We will help
you to make tour arrangements.
We look forward to your active involvement and participation in ACT-VII to continue the original objective of promoting interaction among Asian scientists working on transcription, both eukaryotic and prokaryotic.
With best wishes,
Chong-Lek Koh
Chairman
International Organizing Committee
7th Asian Conference on Transcription (ACT-VII)
