Abstract Instructions

  1. Abstracts may be submitted using the Electronic Abstract Submission Form or via email (matheek@fiu.edu).
  2. Look over your abstract and make sure it follows the suggested format established in the Format and Content pages.
  3. If your form will be emailed, also review the Guidelines for Word attachment abstracts.

Guidelines for Emailed Abstracts and Poster Presentations

Abstracts not exceeding 300 words should be typewritten on A4 page with a 3 cm margin all round, single spaced using a 10
point Times New Roman font
.  Type TITLE IN CAPITAL LETTERS.  State initials, last name of authors (underline
presenting author
), institutional affiliations and countries.  Leave a space between institution and abstract body. 

Author should submit an electronic copy of their submission [in Microsoft Word]. It is recommended that you follow the structured Abstract Format indicated when submitting your abstract. The abstracts will be reproduced in the Final Program and Abstract Book for the conference.

**Your abstract may be chosen for an oral presentation. At the bottom of your abstract, please indicate your preference for the oral or the poster presentation, and if oral, the session you want to present in:

1.Pre-initiation and Initiation 
2.Activators and Repressors 
3.Elongation and Termination 
4.Chromatin, Nuclear Dynamics and Global Gene Expression 
5.Applied Transcription - Pathogenesis, Carcinogenesis, Immunology, etc.

Posters will be displayed throughout the seminar. Poster board surface area will be 115 cm x 95 cm.
